Shades of Autumn Festival

Today, we headed out to Stades Farm to enjoy the Shades of Autumn Festival with Uncle Peter and Auntie Jeannine. Uncle Peter and Aunt Jeannine stopped by this Pumpkin Farm last weekend and told us that we had to come check it out with them today! We are soooo happy we did! This place is awesome! The first thing we did was hit the huge corn bins! Yes, that is correct corn, corn and more corn to play, jump and bury yourself in!

Uncle Peter is so much fun! Watch out! Here we come!!!

This was a little maze built with huge hay bales. We had just as much fun walking on top as walking in between the bales.

This was sheer awesomeness! Yes, this is a pumpkin CANNON!!!

Here is the guy loading the pumpkin in the barrel. When it has built up enough pressure, the man tooted the whistle to lets us know he is about to fire the cannon. "Toot-TOOT!"

The pumpkin flew so high and so far, I lost it in the camera lens! Let's just say it cleared that van EASILY!!!

The kiddos were a little unsure how loud the cannon was going to be, so Amelia and Auntie Jeannine found a nice spot far away from the cannon.

Yes, the Cannon was repositioned to aim straight for the van! The first pumpkin was a direct hit! The pumpkin flew straight through the passenger window and knocked the driver's door wide open! So cool!

I will not ruin the surprise ending, in case any readers want to check out this pumpkin farm to see the pumpkin cannon...

James started off way, way off in the distance, and after each pumpkin, he crept closer and closer. They also had corn cannons that you can fire at targets. The air canons sounded similar to the ball room at Great America, just a little louder. I think the kids were a little concerned that if those little canons made that much noise, what would the ginormous canon sound like? Actually, surprisingly minimal noise came from the fired cannon.

Now, it is time to take a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin. The price of the pumpkins were $5 each, no matter the size! Not bad!

After dropping off the pumpkins, it was time for a barrel wagon ride! Choo-choo!

Time to head home! Thanks for a great day at the pumpkin patch, Auntie Jeannine and Uncle Peter! I think we might have to do this every Fall together!

Shades of Autumn Festival at Stades Farm

It is the Shades of Autumn Festival at Stades Farm, and let me tell you this place has so much to do and see!!!
The corn bins ROCKED!!!! I wish we could have stayed in there all day long!

Uncle Peter and Auntie Jeannine took us to this Farm this farm after they had discovered it a couple weeks ago. They thought we might have fun there...hmmm I wonder if they were correct???

The big haybale maze. We decided walking on top of the bales were more fun!

Amelia and I were a little scared of the ginormous pumpkin shooter, so Auntie Jeannine took Amelia to a say place far away from the shooter. (It actually wasn't loud at all!)

Azoosment Park at Santa's Village

Today was a perfect day to spend outside and play in the North Pole!

Amelia needed a little push to make it all the way around the track using her little arms to pedal the little engine.

There were two "jumpy" things to go wild in!

Enjoying the beautiful fall flowers and decor while wearing shorts and t-shirts!

James chose to ride in this flying jet since Uncle Peter is a fan of NASCAR!

"Honk, HonKKKK!" The best part of all of these kiddie rides is...the adults can ride along too! ( I have a pic of Diane and I riding on one of the trucks but Blogger is being a pain at the moment.)

Nana shared stories of Daddy sliding down this very same slide just about the same as James is now. James had a blast zooming down the original "Santa's Historic Slide" built in 1959!

James figured out that by lying straight down on his back he could actually get air flying off the slide!

This ride at first looked very intimidating to both James and Amelia, so we walked up to it a couple of times before actually getting the nerve to take a ride. The nice man operating the ride told us that if we needed him to stop at any time just say so. Well, I am glad we braved the ride, because it was so fun! James rode it five times in a row! Nana took took back to back rides with Amelia and decided that it would be in the best interest for her to sit the next one out, which upset Miss Amelia. So, she decided she could ride all by herself! She was the only one on the ride!

3 Going on...to the Chapel?!

Today, we had our annual photo shoot with Miss Amelia and her Mommy's wedding dress. She was rather...let's just say...in a mood. So, Daddy and Grandma Judy came up with option B, hold the dress up infront of her and Papa bribed her with a candy pumpkin treat for a smile. Ah, the joys of being 3 and stubborn! Oh well, I guess you can still see her growth compared to last 2 years!
