A Monkey in the Tree?

I think we got a tree climber this year!

Open Gym Time and a Bucket of FUN!

We like to head to the Wauconda Open Gym from time to time for some FREE indoor fun! Basically, the gym is open to all of the kids with some basic equipment for everyone to play with.
Sometimes, we combine the equipment to make new and improved things!

Emily!!! The twins are getting so big and are so much fun to play with!

Now, here is where the real fun begins! Beep, Beep! Here comes Emily and Erica!

Erica made some room in the bucket for her sister and Amelia took over pushing them around the entire gym floor.

Now, it was time for the big kids to get a turn! "Let's hit it, Josh!"

" Faster!!!!"

After all the fun, it was time to fill our tummies with some yummy food! Just our luck, Daddy was working right down the road from Fratellos so he was able to join us for our hectic lunch!

The Leprechaun Strikes AGAIN!!!

Did we catch one???

"Daddy, you look! We're too scared!"
Nothing! He escaped!!!! Better luck next year!

The Leprechaun might be a little trickster, but he left us some pretty awesome St. Pat's Day goodies! Thanks Mr. Leprechaun!

James found this at the end of his Shamrock trail! The glasses light up as well as the light saber!

(Pics are out of order)

A trail of SHAMROCKS!!!

Cool Dude!

Collecting his Shamrocks.

What on earth???

Happy St. Pat's Day Daddy!!! Daddy was able to see the excitement of the day, before he headed off to work! Special times!

(Sorry for the rotated pics, didn't have the energy nor patience to deal with Blogger tonight)

Our Very First Trap!

It's Payback Time!!!

Tonight, we worked very hard on designing and building our very first Leprechaun trap!
First, Amelia paint a little pot black to store our golden treasures, while James gathered little bits of gold. Then, we decided that the trap needed to be the color green, since it is a Leprechaun's favorite color next to gold of course! Next, we have been working on the colors that are in a rainbow, which came in handy as we made some rainbows to add some flare to our trap!
Then it was time to set it up. Now, where should we put it? On the couch, first thought James. Maybe on the table, Amelia suggested. Then, we brainstormed were we thought a Leprechaun would come into the house...the back door! So, we used some green ribbon to tie to the bottom green block and taped the other end to the bottom of the pot of gold. The plan is, is that the wee little Leprechaun sees the gold and decides to pick up the entire pot and takes off, unknowingly setting off the trap!

We figured our trap needed one more thing...a trail of yummy treats! Lucky Charms of course!!

"I wonder if our trap will really work or if the Leprechaun will know it is a trap and run the other way?"
Only time will tell...
will catch him this year???

Rainbow Season is Finally Here!!

A Rainbow Collage of Colors
(slight variation from last year)

Mommy gathered some random crafty items and dumped them in a bin for us.
So, that means we need to sort the items by color. Easy peasy for James and a simple task for Amelia, but it gave us another chance to go over the difference between green and red since it can still be a little tricky for Miss Amelia.

Then, we got out the glue and started to create!

James' masterpiece is on the right and Amelia's beautiful rainbow is on the left! Nice work kiddos! They look so pretty on our kitchen wall!

Alex's 5th Bday Party!

Happy 5th Birthday, Alex!

This was our second time at the gymnastics center in Gurnee for Alex's birthday parties. It was so much fun the first time, he wanted to do it again! And we agreed! This place rocks!

Yes, that is James airborne! Yikes!!

After jumping in the jumpy things, it was time for more jumping but this time it was a really long trampoline!! Boing, boing, BOING!!! (The birthday boy is first in line!)

Nice work Amelia!

Look at those rosey cheeks! That means some energy is being burned off!

Another thing we got to do was a super cool obstacle course! Whee!

Then it was time for the pit! We could swing like Tarzan or

slide off into the pit! It was so fun!

Then it was time for some cake! Yummmm
Happy Birthday Alex!
