"Pomps" Pick-up

As usual, when the baby is taking a nap, out comes the toys/activities that little ones should not get their bitty hands on. So, on this rather icky, rainy day James wanted to take out the "pomps" aka Pom-poms. First, he did a great job sorting them by color into a color cordinated bowl.

I felt that this is too easy for him now (he's done this color sort before), so I grabbed one our "pinchers" (tweezers) and had him put them back into the box using only the "pincher". At, first it took some practice for him to figure out how to hold them, but he picked up the skill quickly.

After this short fine motor activity, we cracked into the goodie bag from last nights birthday party and shared a little box of Nerds! YUMMM!!!

(No, I did not have him eat the Nerd candies using the "pinchers"!)

Pump It UP!!!

Tonight we went to Patricia's 3rd birthday party at Pump It Up, and boy did we have fun!!!
We jumped, bounced, ran and climbed all over the place! Even, Daddy, Mommy and Amelia joined in on the fun!

Here's Daddy and I climbing through on of the obstacle courses.
This was Patricia's Daddy playing joust with me in the cool circle bouncing room.
Amelia was a little reluctant at first, but soon she got the hang of climbing and bouncing on things.

Daddy let me do everything by myself! He told me that last year at Patricia's 2nd birthday party, I needed a lot of help getting to the top of the slides.

Who's that climbing the wall???
Why it is Daddy! Good job Daddy!
My Mommy had to impress Daddy by showing her climbing skills, so she climbed the wall too!
They both agreed that their climbing technique was a bit rusty! I can't wait until they teach me how to rock climb someday!
We hope Patricia had a great 3rd birthday!

Maginfying Mysteries

This afternoon while Amelia was taking a late morning nap, Mommy gave me this cool new "tool" called a magnifying glass. She showed me how to hold it in front of things and it did the coolest thing, it made everything look bigger!!!
So, we looked at all different things is the yard as well as things on us like our fingers, shoes and eyeballs!!!
Here are just a few of the cool things I wanted to see up close and magnified.

The pinecones that we collected from our yard.

I investigated the rabbit cage and the lock for the door.

Don't I look silly!!!
We had a lot of fun exploring our backyard using a different point of view. This thing called science is very cool.

Daddy's Little Girl

My Daddy always wears a hat.
So, I thought I should try on one of his hats.
What do you think?
Is it for me???

Wooden Castle Park

Another beautiful Indian Summer day! Yesterday, we discovered another cool park. This one was like a huge wooden castle. There were many fun things to do there. Here we are all enjoying a nice swing.
Papa would be thrilled of my dissatisfaction of riding on this little motorcycle. I wanted nothing to do with sitting on it! It was too scary for me. (Papa hates motorcycles, they are too dangerous!)
James discovered this cool rope bridge! He did a great job carefully walking across the rope without touching the ground!
Ping, ding, dong!!! I found this cool musical instrument. I had a blast making the metal ball swing down and hit the metal pipes to make different sounds. I laughed and wiggled to my new song.
Daddy and James enjoyed playing in the sand. Both Mommy and Daddy thought this was the coolest thing to play with at the parks they use to go to when they were kids. I guess somethings never change!
Today, we squeezed in another Tuesday Swim day. Papa kept the pool nice and warm from the weekend so we can enjoy another late summer swim. We had a great time splashing around this afternoon. Mommy forgot to take one last picture of all of us in the pool. Oh well!
Thanks again for a great swim Papa!

Pumpkin Pieces

"Pumpkin Pieces"
Created By: James

This may look simple, but using just a "dab" of glue here and there and then placing a ripped piece of paper is rather hard work!
"I'm finished!"

Pals

Yesterday, Josh and Heather came over for an afternoon playdate. We had a lot of fun playing with all sorts of toys and hanging out with each other. Josh was showing off is rather new crawling skills and his new favorite game of "SO BIG!" He is getting so good at both of his new tricks.
Thanks for hanging out with us!!!
See you soon (maybe at a garage sale or two!!!)

Swim/playdate Tuesday

Here's baby Ryan and I playing on the floor in the porch as our Mommys are getting lunch ready for us.
This was probably our last swim date on Tuesdays at Grandpa and Grandma Judy's house for the season. We really had a lot of fun kicking and splashing in the water together. I have conquered my fear of swimming with out "floaties and wearing an inner tube. " I am confident swimming now with just the "floaties"on. Lauren has become part fish over the summer. By the last swim she was brave enough to swim from the ladder to her Mommy (a few feet away) with out any tube or floaties!!! Lauren loves the water and shows no fear of it whats-so-ever!!!
Amelia, Ryan and Joshua became quite comfortable in the water. They had fun splashing and floating in their boats, turtles and crab floats.
We will sure miss our warm summer pool days, but summer will come back again!
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for a great summer of swimming fun!!!
Love,
James, Amelia, Lauren, Ryan, and Joshua

Amelia's Growth...

and Development Update!!!

Last Thursday was Amelia's one year check up. This is what we found out:

Weight- 17lbs 8oz 4% (Yes, she is in the 4th percentile!!!)

Length- 28.75" 21%

Head Cir.- 44cm 21%

She had two shots including a flu shot. Dr. Tj recommends that all of his
"wheezers" get the flu shot, of course I was a little leery about it, but I do trust our Doc.

Amelia also had the finger prick test to check her iron levels and her iron was great!

So, what does a Mommy of two do when her first child was darn near off the charts in height, weight and head cir.

and her second baby is the extreme opposite?

Well, FEED her MORE course!!!

Don't worry, we aren't feeding her Ho Hos and Ding Dongs, but the other night she ate 3 whole plates of dinner!!!

She maybe a little peanut, but she has her Mommy and Daddy's appetite!!!

"BEARY" Good Friends!

Aren't these some of the cutest little Teddy Bears you have ever seen?!

Lauren and I had a great time swimming on Tuesday. We had so much fun that we were very tuckered out. Papa found us some cartoons to watch while we allowed our tummies to digest our yummy lunch.
Thanks again Papa and Grandma Judy for letting us swim in your pool all summer long! We hate to see the warm weather leave, but my Daddy keeps telling me all of the fun things that Fall and Winter have to offer!

Leaf Hunt and Sort

Yesterday, my Mommy took us on a walk in search for the most beautiful autumn leaves!
Those were the ones we collected.
This afternoon while Amelia was napping, Mommy showed me a fun game using a very usual skill of sorting objects by color.
I quickly got the hang of it. Mommy thinks I am a terrific leaf sorter!

ALL DONE!!!

Observation

...of a SPIDER!!!
EEK!!!

One afternoon, out our living room window, we found this big spider on a beautiful web.
We quietly watched and observed the spider as he carefully and quickly spun a web around an insect that he caught.
James was fascinated. Mommy was horrified and ready to run (she hates spiders!!!)
The next day he was gone!
Mommy swears she had nothing to do with it!

My First Birthday Party!

There were many family members and friends that helped me celebrate my first birthday!

This my friend Addie.

There was a pretty white tent decorated with pink streamers, balloons and teddy bears.
James, Joshua and I are just hanging out enjoying each other's company.

Nana brought April the pony over for some pony rides. I heard everyone enjoyed them, but I was little too scared to even sit on her saddle! Looks like Andrew had fun!!!

Mommy, Daddy and James gave me their presents at home so we could play with them right away!

Thanks everyone for making my First Birthday such a "Beary" special day for me!!!

Happy FIRST Birthday Amelia!!!

It was one year ago today that our little baby girl was born.
Amelia Grace was born at 12:35pm weighing 7lbs 12oz and was 20 inches long.
We are excited to celebrate Amelia's very first birthday with friends and family later this afternoon.

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!
We love you so much!!!

Chucky Cheese! Chucky Cheese!

Oh my goodness!!! Here he is!!! "Hi, Chucky!!!" This was my favorite ride the"Tubby-Tubbies" ride. Even Amelia joined in on the fun!

I had soooo much fun Wednesday night. From running around to playing games (I hit the 30,000 ring on Skee-ball all by myself) there is so much to do. I can't wait to go there again!

Thank you so much, Uncle Peter and Auntie Jeannie for taking us there.
