Let's Play

This morning, Amelia helped me put together Cassidy's play mat. Amelia helped attach the toys and the arches, and was ready to watch Cassidy play.
"Umm...Cassidy?? Kick the ball!"

"I'll help you!"

"She did it!" Kick, kick, KICK!

Aww, she loves her big sister!

Cassidy's First Stroll/ Kids Anual Leaf Hunt

Right after we picked up James from school, we took advantage of the short break from the constant rain/drizzle that we had all week long for a short walk down the street and around the block! She was bundled up in blankets and slept the entire time. Ahh fresh air!
James and Amelia found all sorts of shades of Fall leaf colors.

Check this leaf out!

Bags are full, bring on the Fall crafts and projects!!

Apple Banner Project

Heather had found this cute idea on Pinterest and was kind enough to think of us by giving us two apples that were hand picked from an orchard and left over canvas from their apple banner projects.

James' apple banner!
Amelia's apple banner.

A Brand New Belly Button!

This evening while I was changing Miss Cassidy, I noticed her embilical cord had fallen off.

Her first milestone met!

(sorry, if anyone is grossed out with the above photo. It was take a picture of it or keep the stump in my dresser drawer for years to come!)

Island Lake Touch-a-Truck!

This afternoon Daddy took us to a Touch a Truck event in a near by town of Island Lake. We love going to these type of events, you never know what huge machine, interesting truck or big rig will be there for us to touch and explore in! Today, we got to explore:

A police car
We even got to sit in the back of it, but Mommy was too frightened by the image of Amelia in the backseat she decided not to post it! Silly Mommy!

A fire truck, of course!

Honk!!!

A garbage truck, at it was smelly!

(go figure)

A bobcat

A bull dozer

A big bull dozer wheel

An Ice Cream Truck

A pink truck??? (love this picture!)

A pink fire truck, who knew?!

A Tow Truck

It is clear to say we had a blast exploring all of these neat trucks!

Thanks Daddy!!!

Shhh... A Sleepy Newborn

These are those precious moments that will soon and sadly enough slip my memory, so I am trying to capture as much of the common everydayness (is that a word??) I can so I can remember these littlest moments, one because they truely are precious and secondly, so I don't become one of those crazy wives that goes through the phase 15 yrs from now and begs for a new baby in the house! Yes, I will be that looney old lady at the mall that randomly approaches strangers strollers and asks a bizillion questions and ultimately ask to hold the baby while they finish their shopping!

One Week Old

Wow, can it possibly be?? Yes, our littlest member of the family has been in our little world for one whole week and yet she seems to have been apart of us forever. I guess holding her in my belly for almost 10 mos counts, too! Cassidy has already given us tremendous amounts of love and joy and we really couldn't be any happier. James and Amelia love her so, constantly wanting to hold her and give her kisses. I can't wait until she can kiss them back, they are sure in for a surprise when she does, it will feel so wonderful! Happy first week of life, Miss Cassidy! We love you!

Cassidy's First Bath

Today we gave Cassidy her first bath at home and Big Sister Amelia helped! First, we got all the necessary items to make little Cassidy as warm and comfy as possible while we bathed her. We need to gather the following items:

1 Foam teddy bear bath mat

Baby body wash

1 wash cloth

2 towels, one to keep on her to keep her warm

while we washed each part carefully so, the other to wrap her up in to dry her off

1 Mommy (the bath giver)

1 Daddy (the camera man and trusted assistant)

1 Big Sister (assistant in training)

Amelia first helped by keeping her nice and warm with the hand towel. I think Cassidy appreciated her help!

Then, Amelia wanted to try to bath the baby too, so she got to make her feet sparkling clean!

Nice job Amelia!!!

Uh oh! Maybe she wasn't quite ready to be done, or she had too much and got cold.

But...

her sadness was short lived!
