Sensory Activity of the Week:
Pinto Beans
Today, Mommy decided even though we are feeling under the weather that we needed to get some fresh air and a change of scenery. So, we hopped in the car to get some milk from the store. Suddenly, something started to happen. The thrift store god took control of the car and made us go straight instead of the making the necessary right at the light. So, we just had to stop at the local thrift store and check out what treasures they might have for us to buy! Mommy said we could each pick out a book ($.75 each). I choose a new book about using the Potty and Amelia found a neat fairy book that has really pretty, crinkly wings and clothes on each page. Mommy found a perfect condition copy of How Much I Love You board book and another Potty book. Then, we paid for them and decided to check out the Dollar General Store for more treasures to be found! Well, Joshua has inspired our Mommy to get on the ball and create a Sensory Activity time in our weekly routine by starting with beans!

Mommy bought us this brightly colored green tub (she likes the handles to making transporting the beans and tools), a new sand/water wheel with a shovel, rake and crab toy and a 4lb bag of beans for approx. $7. Not a bad deal!?
We had so much fun exploring by: pouring, transferring, raking, scooping, feeling, listening, and finding hidden objects that were buried by Mommy.
"Look Mommy! I found one!!!"
"This time I will hide it and you have to find it, OK?"

After 53 minutes had past, it was time to clean up and get ready for lunch.
(We will be pulling out the tub of beans tomorrow!)

Who knew beans were so fun, right?!! You have some cool toys to go with the beans. Maybe we can play with them together soon!
(So, how many did you try to eat? They don't taste good, do they?)
