Bottoms UP!

James learned a new trick from Mommy, a headstand!

(No, Mommy didn't do one first...that would have been frightening to all!)

Just a Little Squirt

The kiddos have been doing a nice job making sure our future crop has enough water!

Ahh... Fresh Soil and Seeds

Gathering all of our supplies. (Due to the SNOW, we had to do our planting indoors this year) Smelling the soil.
Filling each cell with soil, 144 cells total!

Amelia started with sunflower seeds. After each packet of seeds was opened, we looked carefully at the seeds and talked about how different each kind was to each other.
Some of the adjectives that were used to describe the seeds were; smooth, rough, bumpy, hard, soft, big and itty-bitty, white, "original green striped", black, and squished.
Each seed was carefully pressed into the soil and then covered up like tucking them into bed.
After all of the cells were planted, we had a few more special pots to work on. These came with compressed soil pellets that needed warm water to loosen them up. We watched them in amazement as they grew in size right before our eyes!!!
It's growing!
Fluffing the dirt.

All done! Looking forward to eating fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, herbs, peas, green beans, cauliflower, zucchini, and cantaloupe. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Mid-April...SNOW!!! booo-hooo

This is what we got to wake up to this morning...an inch or so of fresh snow. Yeah....that's Chicagoland weather for ya!

Annual Egg Hunt!!!

Grandma Judy brought along a Flat Corsair from a Carmel newsletter for us to take a family photo and send in to share with other alumni. Happy Egg Hunting!!! This will be Amelia's last year in the "3 & Under" age group..tear, tear. Look at all of those eggs!
James moved up to the age group. A whole another level of egg hunting competition!
Our little buddy Jacob was at the egg hunt too! The kids got to meet the twins for the first time, too!
Go Amelia!!! Get those eggs!

Getting to see if all the eggs have been found.
Amelia's offical count was 14 eggs! Good job, Baby Girl!!!
Ready, get set...GO!!! What a difference an age group makes. These kiddos were fast!
Get those eggs James!!!
So focused!!

James' official count was 20 eggs this year!!! (Daddy noted that there should be at least 4 more eggs, but do to the intensity of the running and chucking of eggs, several bounced right out of the basket!)

Grandma Judy joined again for the annual Easter Egg Hunt!
Let's crack them open and see what's inside!
Time to recycle the eggs for next year!
Oops! Run away eggs!!!

A Throne Fit for a Princess

Well, it's garage sale season and we found a treasure the first day just down the street!

It even plays music of royalty as you sit down on it. She loves it!

Amelia's New Ride

A "big girl" bike!

Unfortunately, the maiden voyage was cut short due to the new training wheels that just didn't fit the bike right, therefore making it impossible for her to take off on her own. We will get new training wheels soon.
